Just a thought while stuck in the house, church is canceled

I need to make a confession I have a severe  dislike of nostalgia. I am the type who looks forward to the future and but learn from the past  and  do not wish to return to a simpler time. It is one reason I dislike the show Stranger Things on Netflix.

I wonder positive outlook on the future is due to  I was born in 1960  and was raised  on a steady diet of Science Fiction that showeed all the problem but still had hope. I love shows  like The Thunderbirds, Jonny Quest, Star trek, TOS and Animated. When I was twelve or thirteen I was expose to Science Fiction  for young people and began reading the  Masters  like Robert A. Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Frederik Pohl, Robert Silverberg, and other from  the age of 15 and beyond; even  reading  from two  to three books a month than watching TV. I look at toady technology like the internet with  fascination not with distain as others do. I love reading and playing games on my tablet and streaming shows.  I do not want go back having four tv channels. Yes there are problems today, yet we can overcome some and I trust my Lord and Savior than man on the rest (not that  I will have a good life or not  experience pain and suffering in this life but I  will be with Jesus in the end).  I remember being scared  by the doom and gloom predictions as a young teen by books like the Population Bomb and Future Shock and not realize now   in 2017 and 56 years old these predictions did not come true, why am skeptical of  climate change prediction.
